Dear frinds,  Please forgive me for having to blog post to inform but I have been strong for my 7 children and I just don't have teh strength to talk to each of you individually.  Please know this is personally from me to you.

I had set today aside to post a new blog and tell you about some very exciting news concerning a 2nd bathroom in our house but instead we were hit with a tragedy.  Our next door neighbor pulled a gun out adn shot our puppy right in front of Noah and Eli.  Puppy ran as far as our back porch where he died in Josh's arms.  I am up right now with 2 very frightened little boys who see it again every time they close their eyes.  We have prayed over them and I'm playing worship music in the living room with all teh ligts on but Eli keeps asking who he is going to kill next.  When he pulled the gun he yelleed at Noah to get the H back because Noah was chasing puppy to make sure he stayed in our yard.  Noah thought he was giong to shoot him  Kristin just sobs.  she prayed so long for a puppy an d now this.  None of this makes any sense and all teh nieghbors are in disbeliev because Puppy wasn't mean. The neighbor used to call him over to his driveway while we were trying to train him to stay onour property.  It just dowsn't make any sense.  He is a vietnam vet and he has always been hard to figure out but we did our best to stay out of his way.

Just 2 days ago his wife begged me ato pray for him because he is not a nice man.  Please pray for her she is jusat a s much a victim in this.  she loved puppy too.  thank God for his family several of them heard and came .  some of teh men buried puppy and teh ladies cleaned up teh blood all over teh porch.  Hartzell's brought pizza and Matthew because he wasn't home whne it all happened.

I thought this aftenoon was crzy enough when I called 911 because we couldn't find Victoria who went out for a run.  It turns our she missed a turn and got lost so when I drove her route she wasn't on it.  a friend from church spotted her and brought her home.  her 4 mile run became 8.  I had barely recoverd from that when I got a call from josh to pray.  he was in hysterics.
sorry about all the typos I just can't seem to make my fingers work and I don't have teh energy to fix everything just the really bad stuff.

Thank you for all your support and prayers.

Misty sunshine

I am so sorry, Smith Family! I am sure you are all in shock as all of us are who read this! Prayers that the Lord will bring sweet comfort to your children, ease to their minds, and protection to their minds that this incident will not linger and cause problems. Lord, surround them with love and your healing arms - be in control of this situation. Thank you, Lord, for never leaving us, for carrying us when we are weak, lifting us up when we are low. Be with the Smith Family, Lord.

I was terribly sorry to hear about Puppy. I know very well the hole that is left when a neighbor maliciously kills your pet! May God wrap His arms around you and the boys! I was clearing out a few things the other day and ran across two letters you had written-one to Paul and one to me back when we were facing the devil face to face.....your wisdom even at such a young age was straight from God's throne! I am glad the boys are ok physically Many prayers being sent on your behalf! love you all!

Misty, we were horrified at the turn of events with the neighbor. Especially because the children were so close when he fired his gun. We are praying God's covering of protection over your household as all of this gets sorted out and the neighbor gets the help he desperately needs. Call me if you need to talk.

Misty,

I am prayingfor you and your family. I am horrified that you live next to such a heartless man. How could anyone do that is beyond me. I would be devastated as well. I just cannot beleive a man shoot a dear puppy and especially in front of the kids. Being a dog lover myself, my heart aches for you and your fanily. I am praying for God to comfort you and for His love to surround you all, especially the neighbor, so He can change his heart.

Love and Hugs to you at this difficult time. Sandie

I'm so sorry about this, Misty, and I'll be praying for your family. This is a tragedy on so many levels. May God's grace cover each of you bringing peace and comfort and healing. May Holy Spirit so move in the neighbor's heart that he turns toward God and receives the healing he so desperately needs.

Oh my word Misty, I pray that you have notified the police! If this deranged man can shoot your dog, what else is he capable of! Please notify the police and let them deal with this accordingly. This man needs to be brought to justice and you family needs to feel safe in their own home.

Galatians 6:7 Do not be deceived. God will not be made a fool. For a person will reap what he sows.

Praying for you to find the strength to take this man down.

Glad that all chidren are safe at home but angry that the neighbor did this to Puppy. I hope that you press charges against this man for what he has done. Veitnam vet or not, there is no excuse to shoot a dog unless it was viciously attacking someone. Those poor kids for having to see this....heartbreaking. Just my opinion but this man sounds mentally unstable and should not be able own a firearm. Dogs are like children to those of us who really love them and I can't even imagine that happening to ours. I am so sorry!!!

I am so upset to hear what happened and my heart and prayers go out to you and your family. Please go to the police station and sit with one of the officers and tell them what has happened, this man has lost his mind and is a danger to you and your children as well as his wife, also his family is not helping him by ignoring that he needs to be in a mental ward where they can help him and keep the world safe. Please Misty do not wait, keep your family safe.

I am so sorry, Misty! That is so horrible. I agree with the above comments about needing to report this to police for yours and your children's safety as well as the safety of this man and his wife. He is very dangerous and should not possess a firearm. So sorry for your poor Puppy.

Dear Sweet Misty. My heart aches as I read your painful news. I am in total disbelief wondering why this man could do such a thing. I will be praying that the spirit of anger be removed from his heart and Jesus replace it with LOVE and that in due time you are able to forgive this man just as Christ forgave you (Ephesians 4). As for you and your precious family I Pray that the Lord Jesus FILL your broken hearts with His unending LOVE and the children feel God's security in your home and are able to recover from the painful memories. Lord FILL the voids of their hearts with your overflowing presence in Jesus Name. I ask Lord that the Family not be anxious when their little minds are flooded with thoughts of their puppy being shot but Lord fill their minds with "Whatever" is: True, Noble, Right, Pure, Lovely, Admirable, If anything is Excellent or Praiseworthy, THINK about such things. Phil 4:8 Holy Spirit of God FILL their MINDS & HEARTS with Your WORD, In Jesus Name AMEN! The PEACE of the Lord Jesus Be With You! A Blessed Rest for you ALL! I Love You! ~ Kim

Dear Misty and family, I am very sorry this has happened. I pray the peace of God that passes all understanding will cover you and your beautiful family. It's hard enough for adults to make sense of these behavior, let alone small children. God can turn what Satan meant for evil into something that will bring glory to God. I will continue in prayer... Jesus will be your strength, lean on Him, love, your sister in Christ, Debbie

You need to be aware of what others are doing, applaud their efforts, acknowledge their successes, and encourage them in their pursuits. When we all help one another, everybody wins.
